With the beach just seconds away, Gryffindor is a  well equipped terraced house in a group of four, situated in a superb location in Porthtowan.   The house is fully furnished to a high standard and is warm and comfortable, with the added advantage that the beach is almost on the doorstep (the arrow on the picture shows where the house is situated).  There is a good sized sheltered south facing garden with a lawn and patio, with table, chairs and barbecue. Private parking  is in the courtyard in front of the house.

The award winning Blue Flag beach is one of the finest surfing beaches in Cornwall, with over a mile of soft sand, numerous rock pools and wonderful caves to explore, making it ideal for families with young children. Lifeguards are on duty from Easter to October. Two local surf schools have wet-suits, body and surf boards for hire and offer tuition to all ages and abilities.

This friendly coastal village has two bars/restaurants (one of these being the famous Blue Beach Bar), an ice cream parlour,  children’s play-park, well-stocked village store  and fish and chip shop.

Porthtowan lies on the National Trust Coastal path, in the heart of the Poldark country, with spectacular walks along the cliffs in both directions giving panoramic views to St Ives Bay to the south and St Agnes Head in the north.

St. Agnes, 3 miles away, has many restaurants, shops and art galleries. Other attractions nearby include the Eden Project, Padstow, Newquay, Falmouth,  the cathedral city of Truro, and St. Ives.  The houses make an ideal base for touring Cornwall.
